A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Miami Art District

Located in the heart of Miami’s Art District, MIMO Market is home to one of Miami’s most fashion-forward boutiques for men and women.

Inspired by their favorite boutiques in New York City and Los Angeles they wanted to bring the same vibe to their hometown, Miami. MIMO Market’s vibes display a cozy interior which showcases a wide selection of brands that have been handpicked for every personality and style.

If you ever find yourself in Miami’s Art District I highly recommend checking out MIMO Market as the styles are fashion-forward and wallet friendly!

Boho-Chic Pants Are Saving the Elephants

You may have seen Elephant Pants make its debut on Season 8 of Shark Tank, but the brand has been around since 2014 with an incredible mission. The boho inspired pants have been popping up across the U.S. over the past year with a goal to donate a portion of every sale to the International Elephant Foundation to create a sustainable future for the elephants. Today, the brand has raised over $100,000 in the effort to save the elephants.

With elephants being my favorite animal I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to help save the elephants. I found out about the brand last spring and quickly ordered myself a pair. Guess what? I love them!

Made from wood pulp in Bangkok, Thailand. The lightweight material makes it perfect for summer nights, traveling, yoga or a lazy Sunday. The company recommends hand washing, however, I’ve machined washed in cold water and their just fine.

Since last year the brand has expanded its merchandise to a wider selection of pants with their harem pants (their original pants) being their number one seller. The brand now sells tops, accessories and kid sizes.

Ready to become part of the movement? It’s easy as purchasing your first pair of pants here!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2016

NordstromOn July 14, Nordstrom welcomed card holders to shop early access at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and opens to the public on July 22 (tomorrow!). After shopping the sale myself I have to say Nordstrom did a fantastic job this year buying the perfect styles.

Just weeks before the sale I went to Nordstrom to buy a dress for a wedding and the hype for this Anniversary sale was like none I’ve heard before. Employees raved about the items that were bought for the sale with one employee at the Natick Mall in Natick, MA saying, “It’s the best selection I’ve seen for our anniversary sale” which made me very excited to shop it!

Now if you’re not familiar with Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale it’s basically Christmas in July for Nordstrom consumers and has become a staple sale at the store. The sale itself consists of brand-new fall and late summer merchandise marked down at low prices. With exclusive perks for Nordstrom card holders such as early access to the sale and more.

Interested in shopping this year’s Anniversary Sale? Be sure to check out your local Nordstrom between Friday, July 22 and Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Happy Shopping,

This year’s purchases consisted of:

Ray Ban Sunglasses

A Kate Spade – Cross Bag

Jack Roger Sandals

What Is Okay To Wear At Work?

1.What is your work environment?

What you wear should depend on the work environment. Is your job business creative, corporate or business casual? This will set the tone for what style you go for and what should be in your closet.

2. What do you have going on today?

You should always know beforehand what you will be doing/accomplishing at work before you go in. Will you be at your desk? Leading a meeting or giving a presentation?  Going to a function or grabbing drinks after work? These are all factors to consider when choosing your outfit for the day. When in doubt, I like to start with a cute white shirt this can be dressed up or down. Whether it’s with jeans, pants or a skirt you can always throw a blazer on with some jewelry and be set to rock the day!

3. Who are you meeting with?

Will you be meeting a new hire, intern, interviewing a future employee or going out to lunch with a professional? These are all things to consider when planning your outfit. You never know who you will run into or who may also be at a meeting.

4.  Am I dressing for the job I want, or the one I have?

Always, dress for the job you want, not the one you have.  Dress like a boss! Even if you hate your job, it’s worth it to put a little extra effort into your appearance – you never know who you may end up meeting.

5.  Heels or flats?

Okay, I hate flats! But, it’s a staple piece every professional should have in her closet. I would go for a basic nude and black. If you don’t like flats like me, invest in a nice pair of sandals (Jack Rogers or Steve Madden). I also recommend a few nice pairs of heels or wedges.

*Tip: If you work in the city like I do, go to work in sneakers or flip flops and change into your shoes when you get to your desk. This will allow for less blisters and a comfortable walk to the office.

6.  Are Jeans Okay?

If you work in a corporate or business casual environment jeans during the week are usually a no, unless it’s Friday. Some offices who offer Summer Friday’s allow employees to ware casual attire/ jeans on Thursday. (Check into your company’s office culture!).

The Death of Victoria’s Secret Swim Line – Now What?

In late April Victoria’s Secret announced they will no longer be selling swimwear. Making way for an extension of their active wear line. “So, now where do I shop for my swimwear?” Is the question women who favor their swimwear line are asking.

Now, no need to worry just yet. You can still pick up your favorite Victoria’s Secret swimwear style while they last, as the company will be selling all swim inventory through the end of the year. But, if you’re looking for something new for your summer vacation or weekend getaway take a look at my top picks for swimwear 2016.
