Fall Trips: Nashoba Valley Winery

This past weekend my boyfriend and I took a mini trip 45 minutes north of Boston to Bolton, Massachusetts to Nashoba Valley Winery for some wine tasting and to enjoy the last bit of summer weather.

IMG_1098

Let me first start by saying this place is huge! Not only does Nashoba Valley produce a variety of award-winning wines but a wide selection of spirits and beers. If that’s not enough to keep your busy all day check out their gift shop, restaurant, or enjoy apple picking with over 10 different apples offered throughout their orchard. (I recommend packing a lunch and buying a bottle of wine and enjoying the picnic area which is situated on a hilltop overlooking Bolton.)

With the exception July 4th, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day Nashoba Valley is open every day for tastings; with tours offered to the public on Saturdays and Sundays. (No reservation required for either, however, I recommend going early as the winery fills up fast!)

Guest can sample either 5 or 10 wines or 5 wines and a full glass. We decided on sampling 10 of their 20+ wines. After tasting 10 wines from their extensive wine list here are the ones I highly recommend buying a bottle or two:

  1. Cranberry Apple
  2. Riesling
  3. Dry Pear

IMG_1076

If wine’s not your thing Nashoba Vally brews a variety of handcrafted ciders,  flagship, fusion and seasonal beers (pumpkin lovers, no worries they got you covered too).

Nashoba Valley also offers a wonderful selection of distilled spirits. Combining their award-winning artistry of fermentation with years of experience in distillation, Nashoba Valley produces and sells some of the finest brandies and vodka (distilled from 100% apples).

Looking for the perfect fall activity? I highly recommend heading over to Nashoba Valley for a delectable brunch at their restaurant, apple picking, and wine tasting!

Explore Newport Cliff Walk

A short drive from Boston you’ll find Newport, Rhode Island, a quaint beach town filled with ice cream shops, fish joints, little buggy car rentals and the well-known Newport Cliff Walk. The Cliff Walk has been on my bucket list for awhile so I figured let’s take a mini road trip to cross it off the list!

The Newport Cliff Walk is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Rhode Island and is a combination of stunning ocean views and beautiful mansions. The 3.5-mile walk is the perfect getaway young couples looking for a relaxing afternoon from the city! I would advise everyone to wear toe-closed shoes as the trail is very rocky at points and can be challenging to keep your balance if not wearing appropriate shoes. (Also, bring a camera to snap some likable Instagram pics!)

Interested in doing a mansion tour? You can tour several homes including The Breakers, The Elms, Marble House, Rosecliff, Rough Point and more. Tickets can be purchased at the door or here!

Check out some photos from our adventure below!

Favorite Skincare Products

We all want beautiful, young skin. I totally get it! I’ve been there, I’ve used that overnight mask from the drug store and all the Clean and Clear products in the book and was still left with poor results and skin looking worse than before.

When it comes to my skincare routine I take the process very seriously. Over the years I’ve found products I love and ones I hate. Now, I have oily skin, so if we’re on the same boat keep reading for some of my favorite skincare brands and products that get the job done and will leave you feeling refreshed and confident!

Clinique (Acne Solutions): I’ve been using Clinique Acne Solution the longest. As a teen- ager I struggled with acne and as an adult living a busy lifestyle I still struggle with acne from time to time. When I have those days where I’m like, “whoa I look 16” I take the time to wash with Clinique Acne Solution. After using Clinique twice a day for two consistent days the acne usually is reduced leaving me feeling confident and acne free! (Really struggling with acne? Try the full Clinique Acne Solution Kit) Clinique is also a great option for makeup and other face washes.  – $20 at Sephora

Sephora Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes: Taking off your makeup at the end of the day is incredibly important if you want to keep your skin healthy and happy. What’s great about the Sephora brand cleansing wipes is it doesn’t leave your skin feeling oily after. You can simply wipe off all your makeup and don’t feel as though you have to wash your face again like you do with other cleansing wipe products. I highly recommend picking up a pack or two. – $7.50 at Sephora

Origins (Clear Improvements): I love the Origins skin care line! The brand has everything from makeup to body wash to masks to cleansers to scrubs and anti-aging lotions. Origins has a solution to fight any of your toughest skin problems from acne, dry skin, oily skin, wrinkles, redness and more. I’ll let you in on a secret…Origins can truly fix anything. Not sold? Give it a try! – $17 at Sephora

First Aid Beauty (Face Cleanser)I know I said I love all these products, but I love this product! I use it every night in the shower to take off all the grease, grime, and makeup from the day making me feel clean and refreshed. First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser is great for any skin type and leaves skin feeling soft. ***HIGHLY RECCOMEND*** – $20 at Sephora

Set Sail With Mickey Mouse

Looking to take a cruise with standout entertainment, their own private island, larger than average staterooms, and ships with unlimited magic? Then look no further to the Disney Cruise Line.

Since Disney’s first voyage over 20 years ago, it has expanded to four ships sailing to ports worldwide including the Bahamas, the Carribean, Europe, The Mediterranean, Alaska, Canada, Mexico and more!

I experienced my first Disney Cruise when I was 12. Since then I’ve experienced other cruises but none stood out as much as the Disney Cruise. Now, some may say Disney Cruise is for kids, well yes, but they also tailor to families and couples.

Your Disney experience starts right when you walk on the ship with Disney crew members welcoming families by their last name. From there guest are free to explore the vessel! The ship itself boasts pure elegance with tasteful Disney features.

The cruise offers endless unique features other companies don’t offer like their private island on Castaway Cay in the Bahamas, rotational dining at themed restaurants, on ship firework show, themed voyages such as their Halloween Cruise, A Very Merrytime Cruise and Star Wars Day at Sea, characters appearances, and of course the Mickey Mouse shaped pool.

If you’re over the age of 18 you have the option to enjoy the secluded adult area on Castaway Cay, adult dining options, top of the line spa services, nightclubs and of course top notch Disney entertainment.

Planning on getting hitched? Disney Cruise offers destination wedding packages on the ship or on their private island. Learn more here.

The Roosevelt Hotel – NYC

Take a stroll down Midtown in New York City and you’ll walk into the Roosevelt Hotel located at 45th E 45th Street. With its 1920s charm, grand entrance, and five-star hospitality you’re guaranteed to enjoy your stay.

You may be familiar with the Roosevelt as it’s the backdrop to many well-known Hollywood films and TV shows including Mad Men, Maid in Manhattan, The French Collection and more. But what those movies don’t show is traveler experiences in the historic hotel.

Walking into the hotel guest will walk up a flight of stairs and into America’s past with a breathtaking grand foyer, an eye-catching chandelier, sitting area, bar, and gift shop. The lower level includes shops, hair and nail salons (perfect for a girls weekend). While the 19th floor hosts a private rooftop bar Mad46 with their signature drink the MadMojito.

The history is shown throughout the hotel with portraits of Theodore Roosevelt, old fashion elevators, and 1920s décor in both the hallways and rooms.

The rooms are small (be prepared) but hey you’re in NYC, you’re not supposed to be spending time in your room!

Although the rooms were small they were clean and comfortable. We stayed in room 1708 and we really enjoyed our stay!

Learn more about the Roosevelt here!

Mad46 is open to the public May – October on Tuesday-Thursday 5:00 – 11:00 pm and Friday 3:00 – 9:00 pm.

The Don CeSar

The Don CeSar “Pink Palace” located in 3400 Gulf Blvd, in Saint Pete Beach, Florida makes you feel like you walked into the Great Gatsby era with its 1920s charm.

The hotel’s early days saw guests such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Clarence Darrow and more flocking to the sandy beaches of west Florida. The hotel was converted to a hospital during the war era and renovated back to a luxury resort in the 1970s. Since then the hotel has had its share of celebrities, films and more. Learn more about The Don CeSar’s history here!

The resort offers 277 guest rooms and 36 suites, which are newly renovated with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico and surrounding St. Pete. The Don CeSar runs on the pricier side but offers special package deals throughout the year. The resort also offers two fine dining restaurants, an ice cream parlor and we can’t forget room service for those midnight snacks!

Looking to get hitched? The Don CeSar offers select wedding packages for the special day. Check out all the details here.

After visiting myself and falling in love with the 1920s charm (and of course the PINK) I would give the resort 4.7/5 stars.
